REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SALT LAKE CITY - The nonprofit organization Muslims United in Service for Humanity (USH) held a fundraising event. The money raised will be given to the homeless in Utah, United States (U.S.).

Not just fundraising, Muslim Salt Lake City also held a festival on Islam and Muslims. The festival features discussions, Muslim fashion show and bazaar kulier halal. The festival is held for the purpose of intentionally changing the negative stereotyping of Islam and Muslims.

The event involves not only Muslims, but also among non-Muslims. USH Muslim Founder, Sarah Ahmad, said he wanted to show Islam and Muslims in a positive way. Serving others is an example of how positive it was.

"By helping others, in addition to charity we also change the negative outlook," he said as quoted abc4.com, Monday (22/10).

Taiyaba Khan, who attended the event, said that in Islam, every Muslim is required to not only help their own circles, but also among non-Muslims. Therefore, this event could be the right moment for Muslims to be able to interact with people of other faiths. "I think it will naturally break down the barriers," he said.

In line with his colleague, Akbar Khan, judging this event right to show concern for Muslims. No problem, it is those who assisted the outside community.

Fundraising begins today and ends next Sunday. The delivery of aid will take the form of the peak dinner. Of aid collected organizers hope to provide assistance to 600 homeless people.
